Mary Potter Foundation
The Mary Potter Foundation is a South Australian charity raising much needed funds to support palliative care through the Mary Potter Hospice and their community outreach program.
The funds raised are vital to ensure specialised palliative care and support programs are available for patients with life limiting illnesses and their families. Every patient and their family should have access to the palliative care and support they need at no cost.
From the dedicated and individual nursing care which includes vital pain management and maintaining of dignity and respect; through to pastoral care providing comfort and guidance; to counselling during the illness and in bereavement; to art therapy; to the telling of a life story through the Biography program – the focus is on achieving quality of life and the gift of precious time together.
Along with patient care the Foundation supports education and research through the Mary Potter Senior Lectureship and Nursing Fellowship in conjunction with the University of Adelaide.
