Melbourne Cup Lunch -
2008
Brightly coloured parasols and luscious edible blooms greeted over 500 guests to the 2008 Melbourne Cup Lunch staged in the Stamford Grand ballroom on 4 November.
Hosted by Channel 9’s weather presenter Brenton Ragless and Kate Collins from A Current Affair, the day commenced with guests being served Yalumba champagne on arrival.

At 12 noon the show began with a stunning hat parade by Adelaide Hatters followed by fabulous fashions from David Lawrence; mail-loui and Showies. The guys were also catered for with a range of smart suits from Peter Shearer Menswear being shown.
Following the three course lunch, which was complemented by specially selected Yalumba Wines, Brenton and Kate presented the day’s winners with their prizes - including four ladies wearing very eye-catching hats!
Charities benefiting from funds raised on the day are Arthritis SA, Childhood Cancer, Huntington’s Disease, Foundation Daw Park, Paraquad SA and SIDS and Kids.
