GIANT
CHARITY AUCTION RAISES RECORD AMOUNT!
More
than $41,000 was raised for South Australian Charities on
Sunday 28 October at the giant Channel 9 Telethon Bunnings
Charity Auction.
Centre
court at ETSA Park Netball Stadium was transformed into a
bargain-hunter's paradise when auctioneer Stephen Lumb stepped
up to sell everything from a family trip on the Sealink to
a house-lot of paint.
There
was something for everyone, with 400 lots of donated goods
on offer, in categories including homeware, building and hardware,
gardening, leisure, holidays and entertainment, prints, artworks
and collectibles and wines.
Mr Lumb
said "the auction presented an ideal opportunity for
the home builder or renovator to access building products
or hardware at genuine auction prices. There were some terrific
bargains snapped up by bidders, particularly on gardening
and greenlife products, and the holidays and entertainment
items were just fantastic this year".
One of
the largest charity auctions in South Australia, held annually
since 1994, the Channel 9 Telethon Bunnings Charity Auction
has generated more than $280,000 for South Australian Charities.
This year's event raised a record $41,150.
